World of Warcraft – Item Upgrading Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln. Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost. Weapons Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition some weapons come with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain on its own. The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one. Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of their base. While this is generally beneficial however, it could have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are extremely lucky. Armor items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. This can boost the base defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value. The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain after upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number. A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button with arrows that circle in the item menu. This will reroll the item and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status. Armor Making a few improvements to your armor can make a huge differences in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poisons and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult areas. The more defense your character is, the more value you can get from every point of health, so it's important to improve your armor as often as you can. To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a specific side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor. The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll need at anywhere between three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in cold environments with a large number of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with your comrades. You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask. You can also get some benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some upgrades of the chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters. Potions Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide an immediate effect. There are five types of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust. Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a crafting table or the Alchemist's chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level. To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Then select “Upgrade” from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have. Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory. Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the way potions are used. For example splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display). The table of potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. upgrade item is the same for using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will draw out the liquid, and then refill the bottle. In addition, there are simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone. The table of potions is organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions. Trinkets A trinket can be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could be a reference to an object or decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly important such as a thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members. In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing stats. Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of rare trinkets. Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade a player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the old one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1. Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they're not needed which allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold. In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other pieces of gear that will not be replaced soon (for instance, a ring or cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when choosing which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players and they want to upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders. Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl once they are no longer useful and the new trinket will receive an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to destroy the old trinket until it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying a new one.
